AGO Thermometer Calibration and Temperature Readings
If it seems like your AGO thermometer needs calibration or shows lower temperature readings, here are possible explanations and solutions:
Temperature Drop
When you pour the first chemical into a cold tank, the temperature often drops.
To confirm whether the sensor is off, measure the liquid in the tank with your own thermometer and compare it to AGO’s reading. This can be tested with warm water and no film.
Even the type of graduate you use can affect chemical temperature, as wide containers increase cooling. Using a pitcher with a smaller surface area can reduce this drop.
Heating Chemicals
If you don’t use a heating system, warm your chemicals slightly above the target temperature. During development, the temperature usually drops by 2–4 °C (4–8 °F) depending on tank size and room conditions.
For AGO Film Processor, heat chemicals close to the recommended temperature. AGO will then adjust process times automatically to ensure proper development.

Certification of AGO Film Processor Temperature Sensors
Three AGO Film Processor temperature sensors were tested by the accredited calibration laboratory AS Metroset (Estonia) on October 1, 2024.
The test confirmed that AGO sensors are accurate and reliable.
