ADOX FX-39 Type II Film Developer – 500ml Concentrate
ADOX FX-39 Type II is a legendary compensating developer perfected over 40 years by Geoffrey Crawley. Based on Willi Beutler’s Neofin Rot formula but improved in all parameters, FX-39 delivers excellent detail rendition, sharpness, and resolution with high effective film speed. The compensating effect can be precisely controlled through dilution variations, allowing you to adjust contrast response to match your subject and film type. Now produced in Switzerland with improved concentrate stability, FX-39 Type II is an excellent substitute for Rodinal where hazmat shipping restrictions apply.
FX-39 excels with low- and medium-speed films, particularly ISO 400 emulsions like Kodak Tri-X, T-Max 400, Ilford Delta 400, and Fuji Neopan 400. While not a finest-grain developer (use ADOX Atomal for that), FX-39 provides the ideal balance of sharpness, speed, and compensating properties. Can be used for push processing by 1 stop when needed.
